(Vol 4 no 3)

Welcome!

The dawning of a new age

We are fast approaching a new age.  An age when families will be able to generate their electrical needs at home via solar and store it in batteries for when they need it.  They will also make an additional income by selling excess electric back to the utility.  Imagine being self-sufficient from the utility?  When power is unavailable to your neighbors you will still have electric.  In a hot summer you will still be cool and on the coldest days you will have heat. Even though electric is critical to so many most think little of it.  We are coming upon the age of renewable electric, an age that will see significant changes in the world.  Every country will become energy independent and spread the wealth so that people will have the electric power to drill and pump water for irrigating fields. Pumps will also help to vacuum excess water from fields and many people will revert back to farming. They will farm electric in addition to their other crops and people will embrace the era on new farms. Environmental rules will change cars from fossil fuels to electric and people will seek out a career of generating clean renewable energy for resale to the local utilities via the power grid. Families will seek education on a continuous basis over the Internet.  They will not only be able to get college degrees like they already do but their children will be able to attend grammar and high school from the convenience of their homes.

Imagine running your home based business with controls over the Internet, attending vocation school and college anywhere in the world over the Internet on a 24/7 basis.

Solar energy can provide electric on sunny days and store it in batteries for when it is needed while sending excess electric through the utility lines as an income and to pay for the expansion of the site.  Wind can generate electric anytime the wind is blowing day or night. Water can generate electric continuously when it is flowing.  Biomass can also generate electric continuously as long as it is fed.  So a combination of the previous resources can be used to generate electric and thus allow for a continuous income and flow of electric from the site to the utility.  We need researchers, corporations and incentives to bring about this changeover from fossil fuels.  Many fourth world countries are currently leading the world in the adoption and development of renewable electric so that they aren’t using funds that they sorely need on oil to generate electric.

While our country continues to support major oil and coal companies, citizens refuse to allow the exploration and drilling for oil and our economy suffers since we our almost fully dependent of fossil fuels and oil from other countries.

If we become independent from foreign countries our economy will improve.  If we make a major effort to develop renewable energy we will have electric for now and the future and create thousands of jobs while improving the environment and the health of the country.  We are also aware of the many scientists that believe global warming does exists and that it is from fossil fuels and that it must be reversed before major natural disasters become common place around the world.

NEW BATTERY TECHNOLOGY - Power Technology, Inc. Has Developed Breakthrough Technology For A Power Current Collector Structure That Can Be Used To Build Superior Batteries With These Advantages:

Smaller Sizes, Less Weight, More Power, Increased Energy Density, Less Lead, More Environment Friendly, Superior Recharge Capabilities and Longer Life.

Power Technology has accelerated development of their Patented Battery Technology
and significantly increased Joint Venture Opportunities for Applications and Sales.

Power Technology batteries have a unique internal structure and electrochemistry. These features give the Power Battery significant advantages compared to conventional batteries, such as the common lead-acid automobile battery.

It is our mission to create environmentally friendly, inexpensive power sources for use by industry and individuals, including the creation of the ultimate battery, characterized by superior power, higher capacity, lighter weight, and minimal acid and lead content - for a range of automotive, aerospace, power storage and other industrial and personal applications.

NEW BATTERY FEATURES
  • Current collectors with 4 times greater surface area than conventional solid lead current collectors.
  • 60-68% efficiency (compared to 30-40% for conventional batteries)
  • 30-50% smaller and lighter
  • Environment friendly - Uses significantly less lead then typical lead-acid batteries
  • Recharge quickly at any standard household outlet
  • Utilizes same external case as conventional batteries
  • Can instantly increase energy output and replace conventional battery with no retrofitting of vehicle

Conventional lead-acid batteries typically use lead molded into a grid pattern as a current collector. The surface area of a conventional lead current collector is approximately 4.6 cm(2) per cm(3). Our battery employs a high specific surface area, 18 cm(2) per cm(3), open-cell, reticulated vitreous carbon electrode structure coated with a lead-tin alloy to advance the reliable lead-acid chemistries to new performance levels by significantly increasing the utilization efficiency of PAM.

The capability of a battery is directly related to the surface area of its current collectors which are in contact with paste and our r technology increases the surface areas of the current collectors without compromising their strength or resistance to vibration, erosion and loss of material. Our technology also increases the energy density for both the weight and size of the battery. The size of our battery is significantly reduced compared to a traditional lead-acid battery of the same amp-hour capacity.

CLICK HERE for a photo of our reticualted vitreous carbon current collector compared to a traditional lead solid lead current collector.

For a detailed discussion of the technology, CLICK HERE to read the Journal of Power Sources, peer reviewed, scientific article : "Electroplated reticulated vitreous carbon current collectors for lead-acid batteries: opportunities and challenges"

Power Technology owns award winning battery technology. The technology has the potential to replace standard lead-acid batteries and other chemistry based batteries. The Company is currently developing improved technology for batteries to be used in all energy industry applications. The battery technology has passed from the proof of principle stage to prototype development and testing stages. The Company's battery technology will serve the $14 billion annual industrial battery market.

Numerous applications exist for this advanced battery technology. The Company has multiple avenues to pursue to develop, commercialize and profit from this technology. These include: In house development, licensing rights to develop specific applications, joint venture partnerships to accelerate commercialization, selling patents and applications of the technology.

·        Europe and North America are soaking up every drop they can get – an eye-popping 44.6 million barrels per day.

·        China’s 1.3 billion people – nearly one-fifth of the planet’s population – busily trading their bicycles for cars, are consuming more oil in a day than they used to in a month. In fact, China’s demand for oil is increasing at the rate of 15.4% per year.

·        India’s future oil consumption is expected to grow rapidly to 2.8 million barrels per day by 2010. Presently, oil accounts for about 30 percent of India’s total energy consumption.

·        Latin America, Africa, the former Soviet Union, and other regions are bellying up to the bar as never before – adding 11.11million-barrels-per-day demand pressures on oil prices.

This explosion in demand for oil is NOT going to abate anytime soon.

My home state of North Carolina is rich in natural resources of wind and sun.  The vast shoreline and mountains in the west could generate more that enough electric to support the state’s needs.  Most states do have something going for them in the renewable resources arena and those that develop them will

Getting closer

Wind Farm   family building wind farm for $100k   for supporting 8 homes,

We can use more research funds,  incentives,  large scale manufacturing, economy of scale and long term funding support from the SBA

What the world needs is more attention spent on developing a supply of clean electric from renewable sources.  Resources that are available throughout most of the world.  Rather then heaping praises on actors and those in sports we should be honoring those that make life better for everyone.  Those who can make the quality of life better for all.  What we need are home designs and government incentives that create homes that not only supply their own electric needs but can also place excess electric out onto the power grid.

What if:

It costs Homes $10,000 to install systems for supplying their own electrical needs and

A owner could generate electric for 10 homes for $100,000 and if

A person could generate electric for 100 homes for $500,000

The average home electric bill was $100

The person producing electric for 10 homes would make $1,000 per month

The person producing electric for 100 homes would make $10,000 per month

Millions of people would elect to get an SBA loan or other business loan to create a small business to generate electric from solar, wind, water or other

form of clean renewable electric.  The idea would act as a motivator for corporations to do more research and development in the energy sector.  The country would have exportable technology that would help the entire world.

It would help the United States economy by having less oil imports.  It would also assist in cleaning the environment, creating jobs, better heath and a solid financial future for families, an income throughout retirement and a legacy that they could leave their families.

AGAIN:

The difference with our group is that we are promoting and encouraging energy independence using clean renewable sources and promoting jobs and incentives for the creation of Energy Farms. We will also cover becoming independent and how best to run it as a small business thus it is not just to support your personal energy needs but for an income-producing career.

  • We will be asking people to write letters to their representatives to push for this goal by supporting legislation that promote Renewable Energy.
  • We are asking the government to attack the issue of energy independence the same way we pushed the Apollo Program which landed a man on the moon and we will ask people to get behind the issue with the same enthusiasm that fans show for sporting events and for Hollywood and TV movies.
  • We will encourage colleges to create a curriculum to show people a new career alternative, that of generating electric and selling it to the utilities.
  • We will push for a standard acceptable contract for independent power producers and the utilities so that the additional legal costs can be avoided.
  • We will also seek reasonable environmental controls. We are the stewards of our planet and we need to maintain it so that future generations can enjoy it in safety.
  • Backing would come from a Small Business Administration (SBA) loan guarantee with up to $500,000. The idea is to create a small business opportunity for individuals and families as a home based business.
  • Being energy independent should avoid future wars over oil and lost lives while benefiting the standard of living for people worldwide.
  • Check our Mission Statement
  • We urge the Federal Government to create a incentive program for our disabled veterans and other vets for their service to the country
  • We also support Home Schooling, Distant Learning and Lifelong learning via the Internet to reduced taxes and improve education
