Editorial

(Vol 1 no 5)

Well, we are into July and the press is already setting headlines about the raise in natural gas prices. In this newsletter we are drawing more attention to the Energy Farm sites.  While we are getting very few takers from manufacturers and dealers for our challenge to send in designs for generating electric in the $200,000 to $500,000 range we are seeing more emphasis in the research for renewable energy.  Please urge manufacturers to push their products by showing people their designs!

We are seeing still more problems in the power industry in the headlines: (you have to register at the site to see the following)

Mirant shares tumble as analyst sees bankruptcy

Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Puts Azusa, Calif., Utility on Hot Seat

The latest CBS Amazing Race series is showing people maybe too much about India and the poverty that abounds throughout that country.  How many things are accomplished by hand power since they spend their funds on developing weapons rather than helping their people.  Image if they developed renewable energy and developed a better approach to a power grid. Villages could use it for heating and cooling rather than have over 1400 people die from the latest hot weather. They could grow food year round in hothouses and green houses since most are vegetarians they need year round crops and they could use refrigeration to preserve food. Things we take for granted many areas in the world are still in need of.  What is the United Nations doing to raise the standard of living for these poorer countries?

The new section for this newsletter is the outline for a state-by-state comparison along with a request for a contact to send in news for each state and to serve as a state representative.

We need you to push manufacturers and dealers to send in their product information so we can present it here!

We are also seeking a non-profit as our sponsor so that we can seek foundation and public funding together.

We hope you enjoy this issue and welcome your comments and suggestions.

We will also cover becoming independent and how best to run it as a small business thus it is not just to support your personal energy needs but for an income-producing career.

Design Challenge

We are promoting companies to send in their best designs for a small Energy Farm in the $200,000 to $500,000 range.  If we can put together a site that generates a good income and a sustainable career for people we can replicate it across the country and create jobs for thousands of people. As part of the effort we will cover various products, home design and independent living ideas.  Feel free to send your ideas to mailto:editor@energyfarms.org
